  • Position: Sales Coordinator – Bangor Beer Co. 

    Reports to: Sales Manager

    Location: Bangor, ME

    Type: Full Time

    The Sales Coordinator works as part of our Sales Team and assists with sales, distribution and inventory management for our rapidly growing Brewery. They work at the direction of the Sales Manager to maintain positive relations with our current accounts and develop new relationships with potential customers. They serve as a brand rep for Bangor Beer Co. and work to grow awareness of our craft beer products. The Sales Coordinator assists with order fulfillment, distribution and maintains accurate reporting of sales data and current inventory. Monthly, quarterly or annual goals may be set for this position by the Sales Manager or upper management. 

    Daily Job Responsibilities

    Sales

    • Sales, deliveries and order fulfillment to our customers - as directed by the Sales Manager

    • Build relationships with the purchasers, helping the Sales Manager track of changes of management, and awareness of new companies. The Sales Coordinator helps keep our account list up to date and tracks customer data.

    • Assist the Sales Manager with communication to our distribution partners. 

    • Communication with accounts (in person / emails / texts / phone calls) - at the direction of the Sales Manager.

    • Occasional availability on nights and weekends to check in with retail and hospitality accounts and work events.

    • Assist the Sales Manager as needed to research potential accounts, identifying new markets and revenue, and networking with stakeholders as needed.

    • Organize and attend special events outside of the taproom: brewfests, tastings, and other events - at the direction of the Sales Manager. 

    • Promotions & merchandising in our existing accounts to promote sales (retail and hospitality) - at the direction of the Sales Manager. 

    • Record orders and collect payments for all invoices with cash, check or bank transfers.

    Inventory & Reporting

    • Assist the Sales Manager in tracking brewery inventory. Invoicing and reconciling sales data. Ensuring brewery inventory is accurate and up to date.

    • Assist the Sales Manager, at their direction, with the collaboration and communication with our distribution partners on weekly inventories, sales, and upcoming releases etc.

    • Assist the Sales Manager in overseeing quality control, freshness and expiration of product.

    • Assist the Sales Manager, at their direction, to produce sales numbers and reports, keeping track of year to year sales, and analyzing trends and historical data.

    Distribution 

    • Deliver product to accounts on routes and timing established by the Sales Manager.

    • Assist the Sales Manager in ensuring cleanliness and maintenance for all delivery vehicles (oil changes, inspection, registration).

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Passion for craft beer and likes our beer

    • Organized and creative with strong time management skills. Familiarity with inventory management is preferred but not required. 

    • Excellent communication skills, upbeat, personable and friendly. This position requires someone who enjoys building and maintaining customer relationships. Prior sales experience is a bonus.

    • Maintain a professional appearance

    • Knowledge of the craft beer beer industry in Maine and beyond (or desire to invest time to learn).

    • Comfortable with cold calling new or potential clients. Acquiring new accounts will involve persistence, physical presence, and follow-ups; comfort with this routine is paramount.

    • Comfortable with the use of technology (smartphone, tablet or computer). A working knowledge of google docs/sheets. Experience with any CRM’s, AI efficiency tools, and/or Ekos (our brewery reporting software) is a bonus but not required.

    • Can lift (+/-) 50 Lbs.

    • Clean driving record, a valid Driver’s License (Class C / non-commercial) and ability to drive a Delivery Van / vehicle. You should be comfortable driving long distances within Maine. 

    • Knowledge of beer draft systems is also a huge bonus!

    Commitment & Compensation

    • This is a full time, hourly position with incentive structure. Total salary is estimated between $38,000 to $45,000 with incentives.

    • Communication with the Head Brewer, taproom manager and owners, on production planning, brewing amounts, and strategy.

    • Communication with the taproom manager to oversee inventory sold through the taproom.

    • Collaboration and communication with our distribution partners on weekly inventories, sales, and upcoming releases etc.

    • Overseeing quality control, freshness and expiration of product.

    Distribution 

    • Oversee delivery operations to accounts throughout our self-distributed routes, ensuring orders are fulfilled on schedule, and customers are satisfied.

      • This includes coordination of additional sales staff and delivery drivers, to ensure they have accurate sales and delivery information, as well as knowledge of routes, delivery timing, etc.
